Ahoy All,
We have been informed by Wildwood Conservation Area that the waterway will now be opened to motorized watercraft starting Tuesday, May 25. That firm opening date triggers sailing club preparations for launching and docking boats. The process will most likely be gradual, much like last year, with a small select crew first installing the launch jetty and another installing at least a section of our overall docks to which we can later attach additional docking. That approach is shared by Docks Director Hans Rosch and Les Leonhardt who will coordinate the work. As with last year, we will still be subject to cautionary limits on work crew numbers so we do not anticipate a customary call-up of all members for a docks installation and clean-up day. Hans will schedule assembly work and organize crews as needed. On the clean-up front, our Grounds Director Phil Christie has already been attending to grass cutting, and of course any member who can handle a rake is welcome to clear debris off of a path or the vehicle parking area or to clean a chair or two on the patio. Here's looking to a fun sailing season at Wildwood! Donal O'Connor WSC Commodore Comments are closed.
