When is a race not a race? When it's a fun rally! Nonetheless the competition was almost as stiff as the wind! Six boats competed in a competition in which previous racing speeds determined the distance each boat would have to cover during the race. Those with the fasted speeds had to sail to the farthest marker past the cottages at the end of the lake and the rest only had to sail as far as a marker placed by the no-wake zone in front of the cottages. Les and Hans and Corinne heading for the finish line! Hans and Corinne take the lead and the win this time! **And thank you to Judy Reddick for sending along her photos from the shore! All participants received prizes which were chosen following the club supper.

Lots of wind, new members joining the race and a first-time entrant winning the Wildwood Cup for 2016 made Saturday's race an exciting one. And lots of fun for participants and spectators! And the Wildwood Cup for 2016 goes to Kent and Donna in a very speedy Albacore! Second place goes to Dave and Leslie in their McVay Minuet. And a big thanks to Les for volunteering to organize the races; figuring out the new flag system, getting the starting blast to work and doing all of that math! This was Les's last race. Now it's his turn to get back on the water and race, but he will be around to advise a new volunteer. (And do the math!) Thanks again to Les for all of his hard work.
