Once again, it took a couple of days but the docks and slips are in and the club is ready for the 2019 season. Bring on the sailboats!

Members of the sailing club came out on a windy and chilly Saturday morning for the annual dock pull. This year it was exciting to watch Hans' latest invention in use! The floating dock crane was a great help in lifting the fingers onto the main docks and probably preventing more than a few sore backs in the process! I think Hans could be overheard plotting a few adjustments for next season, but overall it was a great success! A big thank you to Hans!

Following the dock pull, Bernadette and her team served up a welcome lunch of sandwiches, fruit, cakes and beverages! Thanks to everyone for making it a great sailing season and contributing to the cooperative spirit of the WSC! See you next spring!

Sailors came out to enjoy the 2018 fun rally and were treated to a good steady wind as well! Again this year, the rally consisted of locating nautical flags posted around the reservoir in order to identify a five-letter word to claim a poker hand for prizes! Bernadette & Deb claimed the top poker hand, but Les made sure that all of the participants received prizes.
A delicious pork chop supper with scalloped potatoes and a variety of summery salads and desserts followed the rally. Thank you to Bernadette and the social committee for organizing and serving up the terrific evening supper! If you missed event this year, be sure to circle your calendar next year. It's a great way to get to know other club members, friends and family!
At the Annual General Meeting following the dinner Les announced the winners of the Peter Case Awards for exceptional contributions as members of WSC. And the 2018 awards go to Peter Cochrane, Joe Ertel, Sean Corcoran and Bernadette Kowalchuk. Bernadette and Sean were on hand to accept their awards. Congratulations to all of the award winners!

The 2018 season is drawing to a close! This year the Dock Pull will happen on Saturday September 22nd at 10:00 am with a rain date on Sunday the 23th. See you then!

Ahoy Sailors!


Our last dinner in the pavilion will be this Sunday the 26th of August at 5o'clock rain or shine. On the menu will be smoked pork chops, scalloped potatoes, apple sauce and salad. The cost $5.00 per person.
Please bring salad, fruit or desert to share if so inclined. Also your own cutlery, plates and serviettes is also appreciated.
As you know the Fun Rally will be earlier that afternoon weather permitting.
This will be our last gathering of our sailing club for the year and sadly the end of the Sailing Season once more. I do hope you can all be present for this delicious meal and fellowship. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can attend and the number of your party. Thank you and hope to see you there.
